Tarrytown is a neighborhood in Central Austin just minutes from downtown.  Known for its affluent homes and large, old trees, it is full of charm and amenities.  A compact area that still retains a strong neighborhood feel, Tarrytown offers parks, swimming pools and museums.

West Enfield Park offers residents a newly revamped swimming pool, a playground, walking trails, picnic tables, and play fields.  Reed Park offers a playscape, smaller swimming pool, trails, picnic tables, BBQ pit and hosts the annual picnic after the 4th of July Tarrytown Parade!  Tarrytown Park, or “Triangle Park” features a playscape, a creek for exploring and baseball/soccer field.  Deep Eddy Pool is a spring-fed swimming pool open year-round for lap swimming and recreation, with a history that dates back as far as Tarrytown.  Mayfield Preserve, referred to lovingly as "Peacock Park" is a 22-acre park from the turn-of-the-century that offers peaceful gardens and koi ponds as well as many roaming and roosting peacocks.  It also features trails and picnic tables.

In addition to the many natural attractions in Tarrytown, it is also host to many iconic places of business that help to make Austin the unique city it is.  Over the Rainbow (Austin's oldest independently owned toy store) has a great selection of toys and books and a friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.  Tarrytown Pharmacy has been around since 1941 and they are still known for their old fashioned customer service, dependability and their philanthropy to the community.  Stop by for a prescription, a gift or a card and step back into a slower time!  Hula Hut on Lake Austin offers the best Tex-Mex with a Hawaiian flair along with a festive atmosphere and view of the lake.  Motzart's coffee which is also on Lake Austin is an eclectic coffee and bake shop with a large patio overlooking Lake Austin.  A great place to enjoy coffee solo or with friends, it also displays a fun holiday light show every evening hour on the hour during the holiday season!  The AMOA Laguna Gloria Museum is a lovely place to enjoy art, enroll in classes or take a stroll along the beautifully landscaped grounds.
